Nuclear Physics Engineer, Center for Environmental Studies of Cienfuegos
Bio: I am a Nuclear Physics Engineer, graduated in 1993, since then I have studied the marine environment fundamentally in the application of numerical models for the simulation of marine currents and the transport of pollutants in Cienfuegos Bay. I have long been in charge of the Cienfuegos Bay environmental quality monitoring program and I am currently directing a national project to assess the variability of marine currents in Cuba in the context of climate change and its influence on water connectivity. I also take the data collection in the national acidification observatory that we have installed in the south of Cuba, on the coast of the Cienfuegos province.
What I’m doing on this cruise: During GOMECC3 I will contribute to the collection of samples and analysis of alkalinity. I hope to share with colleagues who develop numerical circulation models and above all make good friends for life.
