Bio: Hello! I joined the Office of the Director in March 2017 as the new communications intern at NOAA AOML. In addition to writing press releases for lab publications, science summaries for the AOML web page and maintaining the AOML Twitter account, I am also in charge of outreach coordination for the lab. I earned my undergraduate degree in marine science and biology from Boston University in 2014. During that time, I conducted coral reef and sea grass field work in Belize and marine resource management in Turks and Caicos. I am currently a graduate student at the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School in the Masters of Professional Science program, focusing on marine conservation. My ultimate goal in this field is to make a positive impact on mankind’s perception of the ocean and all life in it, in hope of garnering ocean stewardship for generations to come.

What I am doing on this cruise: I am actually the land-based point of contact for all cruise participants and partners for the GOMECC-3 cruise. I designed and will be coordinating and maintaining this blog throughout the length of the cruise.
